Why a Throwdown?

You know that we love us some mac & cheese at Relish. We love that anyone can (and does) have their own spin on mac & cheese, creating a dish that is both completely new and still utterly familiar. We also love LOCAL at Relish. So, three years ago, we created the mac & cheese throwdown as friendly competition to showcase many of the talented chefs and restaurateurs in the area.

We are excited to partner with the Hope Center at Pullen again for this event. A charity near and dear to our hearts, the Hope Center works to connect “young people aging out of foster care in Wake County with the resources and support they need for a successful transition to adulthood.” The management staff at Relish believes wholeheartedly that everyone should be given the opportunity to make the most out of their lives and livelihoods. We also love the fact that the restaurant industry is such a great entry point for anybody who needs a fresh start at almost any time in life.
